The Swiss FS-CSC Association, together with the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA), is organising an SSFN & SCiON Symposium entitled « Deep dive into the SCiON technology & technical changeover to SSFN » on 29 September 2023 in Zurich.
Secure access to financial infrastructure services is a fundamental prerequisite for a reliably functioning financial industry in Switzerland. Data exchanges between participants require network security and availability to the highest standards. Swiss National Bank and SIX have collaborated with established Internet-Service Providers to launch the controlled and protected Secure Swiss Finance Network (SSFN) in order to create such an environment.
During a SSFN & SCION Symposium on September 29 2023 we will provide in-depth know-how to our members through presentations, panel discussions and breakout-sessions. SCION access providers from the telecommunications industry will be available at the forum for an exchange.
SSFN allows all joining parties from the Swiss financial industry with SIX as financial market infrastructure to communicate securely with each other. It is based on the SCION technology which was developed at the ETH Zurich and puts security, performance and functionality in data exchange on a new level. SCION stands for scalability, control and isolation on next-generation networks.
SIX as the financial market infrastructure provider will stop the existing communication network FinanceIPNet by September 2024 (see News from December 20 2022). SIX and SNB recommend that all parties with a FinanceIPNet connection make the necessary.
